CVOW Survey

In collaboration with fisheries scientists at VIMS, a cooperative surfclam survey will be conducted pre-construction. The survey will use standardized hydraulic dredge tows and benthic grabs to sample surfclams in the CVOW lease area and along a gradient of control locations. These tows will provide information about clam abundance, population structure, and overall condition.

Research Questions

  • What is the abundance of surfclams within the CVOW lease area and control areas? 
  • What is the age and length structure of surfclams within the CVOW Wind lease area and adjacent control areas?
